Social Media Intern

We are inviting social media interns to join our Transitions Online team.

Transitions Online is looking for an intern to fill our new social media position.

 

One of the main responsibilities of the intern will be to manage all of Transitions' social media accounts, which includes:

 

  • making Facebook posts, 
  • live tweeting stories,
  • writing additional posts on other social media platforms. 


The intern will be working with editors to identify content that is important to help us expand our audience, engage our readers, and promote our stories across all media platform. In addition, we expect our intern to help endorse other programs within Transitions Online such as our TOL Education training courses, workshops and conferences.

 

Qualifications:


The ideal candidate would be a native speaker in English with a journalism-related or social media background. They should be excited about building TOL' social media presence. 


He or she should have extensive understanding on social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter. They should also be inherently interested in the news and journalism education.

 

Please note that this internship does not require you to work in our office but we ask for a minimum of 2 hours 5 times a week for at least 3 months (Monday till Friday). 

 

Conditions:

  • This internship is unpaid. All costs related to travel, accommodation, health insurance and living expenses are the responsibility of either the interns or their sponsoring institutions.
  • The interns are responsible for obtaining and financing the necessary visas.
  • An internship does not constitute a commitment to future employment with Transitions. However, the interns can use their supervisors and colleagues as references when applying for jobs.

TOL PROMOTION

--  Announcement: Debunking Disinformation: A Training Program for Czech Journalism Students - Become An Expert Fact Checker and Hoax Buster!

 

Date: March 12, 2018 – July 1, 2018

The course is for free and TOL will cover all travel expenses for attendees. Applicants should be from a master’s program (or in the final years of their studies), either in journalism or media studies, or other relevant fields such as political science, security studies, international relations or other. One of the main selection criteria will be a proven motivation to use the acquired skills in practice. While much of the instruction will be in Czech, fluent English is a requirement.
