VIEWPOINT: A Eurasianist Model Could Help Russia Find Harmony

The ethnically defined territorial structure inherited from the Soviet era is not conducive to the long-term health of the Russian state. Elena Chinyaeva notes that as both the West European ‘nation-state and the American ‘melting pot’ models are ill-suited for harmonizing interethnic relations within Russia, the unique, Eurasianist concept of Russian statehood may be the answer.
