24 August 2001span> TIRANA–Albanian President Rexhep Meidani said on 22 August that the right solution for Kosovo is independence once the Yugoslav province has built democratic institutions and created a multiethnic society. Meidani played down concerns over changing international borders, saying they will anyway be less important once the whole region is integrated into the EU.
