15 October 2001 SPLIT – The Croatian government met on 11 October in the Dalmatian capital and announced the establishment of a committee to oversee the construction of a motorway between Zagreb and Split due to begin in June 2002. Prime Minister Ivica Racan will chair the committee. The project is expected to cost $1.4 billion.
